Student Activities

All student activities conducted within the Food Technology Student Association (HIMATEPA) are systematically designed and formulated into structured work programs. Each program is developed based on the scope and responsibilities of the respective departments within the HIMATEPA organizational structure, as follows:

Department of Education and Scientific Development

The Department of Education and Scientific Development focuses on enhancing students’ academic and intellectual capacities. This department serves as a platform for students who have an interest and potential in academic fields, particularly in competitions such as essay contests, scientific writing, and other academic events. Through this role, the department aims to foster students who are critical, innovative, and competitive at both regional and national levels.

In its implementation, this department organizes various programs to support academic excellence, including:

  • Scientific Visit (KUIL)

  • Scientific Group (KEMAH)

  • Foodtech Creative Competition (FCC)

  • HIMATEPA General Assembly (MUSHIMATEPA)

Department of Interests and Talents

The Department of Interests and Talents serves as a platform for developing students’ potential in non-academic fields. It aims to accommodate students’ interests, talents, creativity, and abilities outside academics, such as in arts, sports, and self-development activities.

Through this department, students are expected to develop essential soft skills such as teamwork, creativity, communication, and leadership, which are valuable in both organizational and professional environments.

The programs include:

  • Festival of Food Technology (FESFOOD)

  • Fun Activities

Department of Public Relations

The Department of Public Relations plays a role in building and maintaining harmonious relationships both internally and externally. It serves as a medium for communication and collaboration with various stakeholders and contributes to the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in community service.

Additionally, this department acts as a channel for accommodating and conveying the aspirations of Food Technology students to relevant parties.

Its programs include:

  • Community Service (PM)

  • HIMATEPA Goes to School (GTS)

  • Data Collection for Proposal Examinations & Final Seminars

  • Himatepa Voice

  • Internship, Final Project, and Seminar Socialization (SOSPUS)

Department of Student Welfare

The Department of Student Welfare focuses on improving students’ well-being through programs that support their needs and comfort. It is responsible for providing official student uniforms (PDL and PDH) as the identity of Food Technology students, organizing a mentorship program (Kakak Angkat) to help new students adapt to academic life, and facilitating student entrepreneurship development.

Through these initiatives, the department aims to foster creativity, independence, and entrepreneurial spirit among students.

The programs include:

  • Mentorship Program (Kakak Angkat)

  • Business Development Center (BDC)

  • Procurement of PDL and PDH Uniforms

Department of Communication and Information

The Department of Communication and Information is responsible for managing organizational information and communication media. It oversees HIMATEPA’s social media platforms as tools for information dissemination, activity publication, and communication with students and the public.

This department also plays a role in creative media, including designing publication materials, documentation, and content development. Additionally, it manages the creation and maintenance of HIMATEPA’s company profile as a representation of the organization for both internal and external audiences.

The programs include:

  • Weekly Update

  • HIMATEPA Company Profile

  • Social Media Management

Non-Department Division

The Non-Department Division involves students outside the core organizational structure as a form of active participation in HIMATEPA activities. It serves as a platform for students to contribute and develop their potential even if they are not part of a specific department.

The programs include activities such as Milk Day and Herbal Drink Day, which aim to raise public awareness about the importance of nutritious food consumption and the preservation of traditional beverages.

Through these activities, the Non-Department Division is expected to function as a medium for education, participation, and the development of students’ interests in the field of food technology.
